Marc Lou says MailCheap will hit $1k MRR in under two weeks
A public dunk on MailCheap's conversion rate got answered with a growth projection, not a revenue screenshot.
Matt McGarry did the math on MailCheap in public and it was not flattering. He counted 1.5M+ views on Marc Lou's posts about the product against 23 active customers, called it "the worst conversion rate of all time" and said he had expected $10k+ overnight.
Marc Lou answered with a comparison instead of a defence. In his reply he said DataFast took three months to reach $1k MRR (monthly recurring revenue) and now sits at $30k MRR, and that MailCheap will do $1k MRR in less than two weeks if growth stays linear. That is six times faster than DataFast, by his own count.

The part that is a projection
Worth separating the two numbers in that reply. The $30k MRR for DataFast and the three month ramp are Marc's reports of things that already happened. The MailCheap figure is a forecast with a condition attached, and the condition is the word "linear". Nobody holds a straight line through a launch, which is the whole reason the first two weeks of a product read badly.
Marc's own framing is that a launch is the worst possible moment to judge conversion. No testimonials yet, no word of mouth yet, just attention arriving at a page from people who were not shopping for an email tool when they clicked.
The business read is that both men are arguing about the same figure from different ends. McGarry is scoring a launch on efficiency, views in versus dollars out. Marc is scoring it on slope, where a slow start that compounds beats a big day that does not repeat, and we will not know which one was right until the two weeks are up.
That has to be the worst conversion rate of all time.
