Rauch says 60% of Vercel deploys are now agentic

Vercel's own docs see up to 83% of pageviews coming from agents, and Rauch says that share rises the more they optimize for them.

Guillermo Rauch posted a set of machine traffic numbers from Vercel. Over 60% of deployments on the platform are now agentic, up from roughly 3% in January 2026. Across the entire Vercel network, 58.18% of traffic over the last 30 days is bot-originated, against 32% in January 2024.

The number that should stop you is the docs one. Rauch says up to 83% of pageviews on Vercel's own documentation sites now come from agents, and that the percentage reliably increases the more they optimize the content for them.

What the docs number actually means

That last clause is the whole story. It is not just that agents showed up and started reading. It is that Vercel changed how it writes docs for machines, and the machine share went up in response. Optimizing for an agent reader produces more agent readers. If you run a product with documentation, that is a lever you can pull this week, and it is one of the few in this set of numbers that a solo founder can act on directly.

The deployment figure moved fastest. Going from about 3% to over 60% inside a single year means the default way code lands on Vercel changed, not that a new segment appeared at the edges. Rauch did not break out which agents or which tools are responsible, so nobody knows from this post how much of it is any one coding agent.

Treat these as Vercel's numbers

These are first-party stats from a platform whose business benefits from agents being everywhere, posted without methodology. Bot-originated traffic is also a broad bucket. Crawlers, scrapers and monitoring have been part of web traffic forever, which is why the 32% baseline in January 2024 matters more than the 58.18% headline. The delta is about 26 points over roughly two years.

It lines up with what the company has said elsewhere about its business. Agents were reported to be about half of Vercel's new business earlier this month, which is the revenue side of the same shift Rauch is describing in traffic.

The practical read for a small software business is narrow and useful. Your docs, your changelog and your API reference are increasingly being parsed, not skimmed. Clean structure, plain markup and no information trapped in a screenshot stop being a nice-to-have and start being distribution. Rauch's own forecast is more aggressive than that, and worth weighing against the fact that he sells the shovels.
