Marc Lou says MailCheap hit $2k MRR on day 16
Six days after the first thousand, the second one, posted as a reply to people who say vibe-coded products are not real businesses.
Marc Lou says MailCheap went from $1K MRR (monthly recurring revenue) at day 10 to $2K MRR six days later. He posted it as a two-line timeline under the phrase people keep throwing at him, that you cannot vibe-code a real business.
We covered the earlier $1k mark, which took ten days from launch. The second thousand took six. That is a founder's own screenshot of a chart, not an audited number, and sixteen days is a launch curve rather than a business, but the shape is the point he is making.
Where it sits in the portfolio
The same week, Lou posted his October numbers. He first wrote $107,142 for the month, then corrected it down to $105,147 after spotting a $1,995 error in his own arithmetic. MailCheap shows up at $2,050 for October, which puts it ninth on a list of sixteen lines.
The top of that list is familiar. TrustMRR at $42,531, DataFast at $31,103, Ship or Die at $18,990. The bottom is a long tail of very small products, including PoopUp at $9, which Lou notes is back. He describes the whole thing as sixteen revenue streams with zero employees and 90% profit margins, and calls it a new personal record.
The read
MailCheap is roughly 2% of Lou's month. The number that matters is not the size, it is the slope, and the slope is what he is using to argue a case about how fast a product built this way can find paying customers. One product doing that once is not a trend, and he has also published products going the other way.
What nobody can tell yet is whether this holds. A sixteen-day chart tells you a launch worked, not that customers stay. Lou has not published churn for MailCheap, and the next few monthly breakdowns will say more than the first two weeks did.
