Tony Dinh made a $1,000 video with Opus 5.5 in 30 minutes

The model pulled the brand assets on its own, which he says he never asked for.

Tony Dinh says he made a motion graphics video with Opus 5.5 in under 30 minutes, and that a year ago he paid roughly $1,000 or more for a video like this.

He published the whole prompt, which is shorter than most people would guess. He asked for a dynamic 15 second motion graphics video, showreel style, the kind of thing a motion designer puts on a resume. He told it to use actual product screenshots, logo and assets, to include music, and to make the motion match the music. He added one instruction that does a lot of work, which is to do it like a real professional production video, not like a demo or prototype.

The part worth stopping on is not the render. It is the step before it. Dinh says Claude went and collected the brand assets on its own.

Then he pushed it further

After the first pass he ran it again with more direction and got a 30 second version he liked better. The added notes were specific rather than clever. He told it to add more animation and motion design, to avoid using screenshots raw and instead break them into components and icons so those could be animated too, to make the motions juicier, and to use the best motion design techniques it could. His reaction to the first improvement was that it got so much better with just a little direction and prompting.

The business read

This is one founder's own account of one video, not a benchmark, and nobody has put his output next to the thing he actually paid a thousand dollars for. But the interesting cost line is not the render time. It is the briefing. Gathering brand assets, finding the logo, pulling the right screenshots, is the unglamorous coordination work that agencies bill for and that solo founders avoid by shipping nothing. Dinh says that happened unprompted.

It lands alongside the other Opus 5.5 results founders have been posting this week, including the HAProxy port done in 9.5 hours. Same pattern in a different medium. The model is doing more of the setup nobody wanted to pay for.
